The plans are in the works.  Here's a general idea of what TerraJourn will offer...

Summer

~8 day Southern Utah Backcountry Expeditions

• roundtrip from SLC
• small groups (8 guests or less in two vehicles)
• mix of scenic touring, hiking, and leisure exploring
• 1 or 2 nights in cabin/lodge
• several nights in group camps
• 1 or 2 nights wilderness camping
• all meals included
• all nps/blm/forest permits included
• moderate to strenuous hikes/scrambles to some of Utah's most remote and mostly undiscoverd desert landscapes

Winter

Ski Area personalized shuttle service

• personal ski chauffeur for a day
• transportation from slc to one or more area ski resorts
• drop off, pick up, backcountry drops
• call ahead, arrange your pick-up time, and define your day from there
• pricing per vehicle, up to 4 guests
• price goal: reasonalby priced around the same as local shuttle "bus" services
• example:
• shared-ride van service = $37/person one way from slc to park city
• TerraJourn pricing might be somewhere around $240/day
• $240 / 4 = $60 per person roundtrip
• $60 / 2 (there and back) = $30 comparable each way
• what you would get that van-ride shuttle system doesn't get you
• the driver would stay at the resort with you... want to transfer to another resort mid-day?  no problem
• you are in the same vehicle all day... just leave your lunch, shoes, extra gear, etc. in the vehicle and enjoy the mountain

What is TerraJourn (other than a made up word combining a latin word for Earth and a family of words that reference a trip or travels)?

It is based on an idea... the idea that travel should not be about vendors cashing in on the popularity of attractions; it should not be about commercializing experiences; and it certainly should not be about mass-producing the same manufactured memories for any who will pay the fare.

Travel ought to be about making new discoveries in distant and foreign landscapes, learning from the experience of the locals, and creating unique personal experiences in a way that could never be reproduced for public consumption.

The mission of TerraJourn is to provide travel options that fulfill that vision.
